The Future of Christian Minstrels Reunited

A review of the site activity for the last year indicates that the site has been very rarely visited in the past year and, in fact, has not had a single message posted to the Forum since this past March. While the site served us admirably in the period immediately surrounding the last Reunion, I'm wondering if there is sufficient interest to continue making it available. If so, it is probably time for a "face lift" and tuning of the feature set, and if not maybe it should remain only as a photo gallery or should simply fade away.I'd very much like to hear from you about your feelings on this, and plan to make some decision on how to proceed around the first of August, 2007. I'll assume that those I do not hear from have no opinion on the matter, and will try very much to accommodate any who would like to see the site continue in some form or another.Additionally, after two years of having the christianministrels.org domain name registered for our use, I am considering not renewing it. Our poll results indicated that it didn't seem to be of much importance to most, so I am considering eliminating that cost. Again, please respond (http://christianminstrels.dreamhosters.com/component/option,com_contact/Itemid,3/) and let me know how you feel about this also .Regards, Robert Parker, Jr.

Who Were The Christian Minstrels and Why this website was created?

The Christian Minstrels were high school students
attending First Church of the Nazarene, Pasadena, California during the
years of 1964 - 1974. To be a "CM" took commitment. There
were no auditions or talent requirements. Each member agreed to
live according to the demands of rehearsals, performances and other
outlined points of discipline throughout the year.
During the time when newspapers screamed protests of war in
Vietnam..... violence on college campuses.....LSD....race riots....and
universal anarchy the Nation cried, "Where do we go from here?" and
"What is the answer?" While thousands of youth were telling the
world what they were against, the CMs found pleasure in telling the world what they were for, They knew where to go; they found the answer in God.
In 1964, Dale and Judy Bailey founded the CMs. The group
numbered about 15 at the beginning and soon began to travel to small
churches in the Southern California area. Upon graduation from
college, Dale and Judy moved on to a new ministry. The new Pasadena First Church of the Nazarene Pastor, Earl G. Lee, with his commitment to youth within the church, decided to bring his Youth Pastor from Nampa, Idaho - E. Dee Freeborn. Dee took leadership of the group and what happened over the next few years was phenomenal.

New WebSite Features!

We have added some new features to the site to help make it a little
more of a community. While anyone can read through the message
boards, and view the photographs in the galleries, you will be able to
participate more fully when you register in the site (Sign up on the
home page!).

We also have obtained three possible "uptown" domain names, and would
like your feedback as to where you would like to find this site on the
internet. Take the poll, and tell us what you think.

Registering as a site member allows you full access to posting messages
in the forums, allows you to submit news items or articles directly from a
form on the site, and lets you add pictures to the photogalleries.

Articles and photographs will not show up until they have been reviewed
by one of the site's administrators, but we will publish your stuff!

Where are CMs now? What are they doing? Who will we see at the Reunion Concert in October? Whatever happened to? ...

You get the idea! Over the next few weeks you will get the chance to
really make this place your own, so dive right in, play around the
site, and have fun!
