The Coast Guard and other agencies are investigating a deadly plane crash in Long Island Sound. A Southold town police captain says the lone occupant of the aircraft did not survive. Coast Guard spokeswoman Jetta Disco says the small plane was reported down shortly before 9 a.m. Monday about 8 miles north of Mattituck Inlet on eastern Long Island.
