He served on the school board for 15 years; he helped build the rural water system from 1999 until present day, which is also known by the name of Ozan Creek Water System; he has served on the Hempstead County Quorum Court, and has sat on the Farm Bureau board for many years. He also helped build the Blevins Volunteer Fire Department from the ground up. We got along well throughout the years and made sure that not one fight went unsettled, James said, with a grin.
