Hi, Wes and Vicky,
I am continuing to pray for both your families every day and even when I wake up in the middle of the night.
Wes, do you have a cassette recorder? I know they're a thing of the past, but I have some tapes I want to send you. I found a few cassettes from 1st Church from the 70s and early 80s when Pastor Lee was preaching. It was really good to hear him preaching, and I thought you might enjoy hearing them. The quality isn't that great, but maybe that was because my cassette recorder is not very high quality. Vicky, you'd probably enjoy them too.
While everyone's praying, I could use your prayers too. As I've mentioned before, I'm a school psychologist. Right now I have a couple of difficult situations at one of my schools. One involves a suicidal boy and the other involves a mentally unbalanced parent, two different cases. It's very stressful for everyone involved. I really would appreciate your prayers. Thanks. Nancy

Hi Friends, Carol had her surgery on Monday and it went about 4 times longer than anticipated. What was supposed to be a 3 inch incision turned into about 14 inches and a whole lot of other complications. We knew she was pretty fragile going in but were not quite ready for the ordeal. We thought we could take her home by around noon, but it was after 7:00 pm before we got home and really was pushing it at that. The doctor wanted to keep her overnight because of all the side complications, but insurance would not go for it, So took her home, and a friend who is a nurse came over and helped me out. I am a lousy nurse but had to be one anyway. Carol is much better today 4 days later but will be in recovery for much longer than anticipated. Not sure how soon they can start the new type of treatments. Was supposed to be 6 weeks, but may be longer now. The good thing is she came through it alive, and should be able to start the new experimental treatments sometime. The next day April 4th, our daughter Jennifer called and told us that our new grandson, Eli, was born Tuesday afternoon, and everyone is healthy and happy there in Colorado. We would love to go out and see them, but will have to wait indefinitely now.. Vicky, we pray for Trent and his family including you everyday. Nancy, we are praying for your situation as well. We understand what a burden it must be to try to help some of these kids. I heard just yesterday that suicide was the second leading cause of death for college age kids. It may be worse than that for slightly younger kids. I know when I was a sophomore in high school, one of my best friends from the football team, committed suicide. It was a real shock. Obviously, I still remember it today. By the way, we still have a cassette player, it is combination unit along with a CD player, but it does work. Imay have to blow the dust off of it. I would love to hear Pastor Lee again, even on tape. Thanks, Wes

Holding and the smell of a baby can't be beat. Praying that maybe they will be able to come visit you and Carol. Thank you both for the wonderful cards, Carol you do a great job on them. Dear Wes and Carol,
I'm glad the surgery worked out, even though it was so difficult. Carol, you must be one tough lady. It's unbelievable how insurance companies make a person go home so soon after surgery.
I'll get those tapes in the mail this weekend. I know you'll be blessed by them. I was. It's sort of an odd assortment of tapes. You'll see when you get them. Do you remember Esther and Edgar Wulzen? Well, they were good friends of my family all of my life. Edgar passed away several years ago, and Esther just passed away in 2004. She named me the executor of her estate and successor trustee because they didn't have any children. It has been quite an undertaking, but one of the blessings of the experience of going through all her stuff has been discovering little treasures, like the tapes, which she and Edgar had saved. I'm sure Esther would be happy to have them passed along to people who will appreciate them.
Thanks for your prayers.
Nancy
