The organization currently participates in the We Honor Veterans program; offers a bereavement program that is open to anyone in the area; sponsors the Good Grief Club in schools to support children and youth; and, operates an in-hospital palliative care program. He said Hospice conducts fundraisers throughout the year to help make up the difference; and, Powers noted that, after the passing of his father, he became more personally involved in that effort because he was impressed with the humanity of the organization.
