Re:CM Reunion - 2005/10/13 17:59
Hi, Vicky,
My goodness. You certainly had your hands full there for awhile. If you had been at the reunion, I think you would have won the prize (an imaginary prize) for having the most grandchildren. Wrennie Waterson has four.
I live in Altadena, only a few blocks away from where I lived when I was in high school. I've been married to Fred for 23 years and am a school psychologist in El Monte. I work with students from Kindergarten through 8th grade. No children, so no grandchildren, but I have 8 great-nephews and nieces, so our Christmases are pretty loud. We have two dogs, Spencer and Amanda, and they think they're humans. So do we, of course. Fred retired a couple of years ago from being a family therapist who worked with drug-addicted teenagers in a residential setting. I'm planning on retiring in 5 years and plan to spend my time gardening, doing ceramics, volunteering at a school, volunteering for a hospice, writing, and who knows what else. I may be busier than I am now. It's great to hear from you. I think the CMs are going to have yearly mini-reunions, maybe in August (at least it's been talked about), so if you happen to come out to California, maybe you can make it. Actually, if you come out some other time and let people know ahead of time, maybe a mini-reunion can be arranged. That's what happened last year when Nancy Whitaker Cooper came out from North Carolina. About 20 CMs met at Marie Callenders for dinner. I was sick so couldn't go, but they had a great time. Thanks for writing. Have a great weekend.
Nancy
